Best Add-On Applications for your PDA or Device

If you have a PDA or device, you’re well aware of the vast majority of applications available that you can download and install. Now, how to determine the junk from the cream of the crop. I’ve installed and uninstalled many applications over the past couple of years using a variety of devices and I’ve learned some lessons and have some recommendations.

Gmail
If you don’t want to receive your e-mail as text messages (SMS) and prefer to use Google’s own application, then I highly recommend downloading the mobile Gmail application. The e-mail syncs up quickly, displays superbly, and can be easily managed.

Yahoo! Go
In addition to checking your Yahoo! mail, this application is loaded with ‘widgets’ (quick links) to many news categories (such as Movies, Sports, Finance). Simply open the application and start viewing your mail and favorite topics without the time-consuming searching that a mobile Web experience sometime brings.

Google Maps
Another superb mobile application by Google. On more than one occasion, this application has saved me from becoming completely lost. It can utilize GPS technology to identify your current location, then provide a map of the surrounding area with driving directions to your destination. This is a must have for anyone who travels.

Facebook
For those obsessed with checking your friend’s ‘Walls’, new pictures, and your messages, the Facebook has gone mobile. The application provides a glimpse into you and all of your friend’s updates. From message indicators and alert notifications, the Facebook application will satisfy your mobile social network needs.
